Judy Knight – Patient Advocate and Bariatric PatientPatient Advocate
A key member involved in your care is someone who has been there before. A bariatric patient with a passion for bariatrics, Judy Knight says the Roux-en-Y® gastric bypass literally saved her life. “I was 400 pounds at the time of surgery. After more than a 200 pound weight loss, I am now physically able to do so many things that were not at all possible prior to surgery,” said Judy.
Judy enjoys working with bariatric patients by acting as a patient advocate and serving as a resource for her patients. Her talents include providing helpful information, offering a sympathetic ear and applauding her patients’ successes.
Born in Utah and raised as a military kid, Judy has lived mostly in Kansas, Missouri, Texas, and one tour to Okinawa, Japan, where she met her ex-husband. They moved to Abilene, TX, in 1971. Judy now lives in Mesquite, TX, with her dachshund, Bandit.
Judy is very involved in Community Life Church in Forney, TX. Her hobbies include exploring flea markets and thrift stores, collecting different dish patterns, decorating and updating her house, and meeting new people.
Judy has one son, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and a young grandson. Being a grandmother is the highlight of her life and he always brightens her day with a smile.
